U.S. Naval Academy  The U.S. Naval Academy was founded in 1845. The Academy gives young men and women the training they need to lead in the world's most powerful Navy. The mission of the school is to develop midshipmen morally, mentally, and physically.

State House  The Maryland State House, located in Annapolis, MD, was built from 1772 to 1779 and is the oldest state house in America still in legislative use. The Old Treasury Building, built in 1735, is the oldest public building in Annapolis.

St. Mary's Church  St. Mary's Catholic Church was built between 1858 and 1860. Constructon started several years after the Redemptorist Order obtained the property from the heirs of Charles Carroll, the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence.

St. John's College  St. John's College was originally King William's School, a grammer school founded in 1696. The school was chartered in 1784 as St. John's College by the state of Maryland. Today, it is a four year liberal arts college, noted for its "Great Books" program.

St. Anne's Church  St. Anne's Episcopal Church was the first church in Annapolis, MD, built between 1696 and 1704. It underwent two renovations, completed in 1866, before looking the way it does today.

Spa Creek  Spa Creek borders the east side of Annapolis, MD. Photos include the Eastport Bridge, Annapolis Yacht Club, Eastport Yacht Club, and Severn Sailing Association.

South River  The South River lies south of Annapolis and is home to numerous marinas and water privilaged communities. Near the mouth of the river lies Quiet Waters Park, an Annapolis favorite for afternoon walks and kayak rentals.

Severn River  The Severn River borders the north side of Annapolis, MD. The river is a protected area and was given the designation of "Scenic River" by the state of Maryland. It is a favorite location for day sailing, fishing and water skiing.

Sandy Point  Sandy Point State Park opened on June 25, 1952. Located next to the Bay Bridge, the park has beaches, picnic areas, and a marina.

Magothy River  This river is popular with sailors and power boaters alike and features marinas and waterfront restaurants. Photos include Cape St. Claire beach and fishing pier, Gibson Island, Dobbins Island, and Little Dobbins Island with the infamous Wagner house.

Government House  Government House has been the official residence of the governor of Maryland and his family since 1870. Governor Oden Bowie and his family were the first occupants. The house is conveniently located on State Circle across from the State House.

City Dock  City Dock in downtown Annapolis, MD, features the famous "Ego Alley", a slim harbor area where boaters can tie up for a brief visit or lease slips. This is the town's popular shopping and dining area. There is no shortage of pubs for sipping a cold brew.

Chesapeake Bay Country - Dorchester County, Maryland  Dorchester County was established in 1669 and was named for Sir Edward Sackville, the 4th Earl of Dorset in England. The county has 1,700 miles of shoreline and is home to the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.

Bay Bridge  The William Preston Lane, Jr. Memorial Bridge first opened in 1952 as a single bridge with two lanes. A second bridge with three lanes was constructed parallel to the first and opened in 1973.
