Gary Stephans has been interested in photography and art all of his life. He has been a professional dancer since the age of seventeen. During the past five years he has combined these two passions by photographing ballroom dance competitions.

"I strive to capture not only the line and the routine, but I see the dance as a living sculpture. I want to see the connection, the mood, the feeling, the spirit, the emotion of the dancers in the photograph."
