White House Annual Garden Tour The White House opens its gardens to the public annually to let Americans walk the gardens and view trees planted by dignitaries. The trees adorned with illustrative photos. The shovels used for tree planting are decorated with explanatory medallions.
DC'S ALTERNATIVE INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE The Palisades DC's Independence Day parade is held down on Constitution Avenue on July 4th. But is North West DC is a hometown tradition locals celebrate with politicians, local retailers and man's best friends wearing bandanas and baseball caps.
DC's JULY 4th PARADE The Nation's Capitol hosts a July 4th parade annually. The parade extends up Constitution Avenue. Officers line the block. This year doubled buses were put side by side for security purposes at intersections along the avenue. The world has changed.
THE NATION's ANNUAL FOURTH OF JULY CONCERT FOR THE COUNTRY A Capitol Event America annually gives its people a national concert broadcast from the West Lawn of the Capitol in shaded view of the ensuing fireworks over the Mall from behind the Washington monument. People mingle for free, some in view of the performance others not.
WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW WIHS is held at the MCI Center in Washington DC. The creme of the equine sporting world compete throughout the year to partake. The show, augmented with western riding events, dressage, extreme riding and terrier races introduces many to horses.
DC's CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL The cherry tree blossoming around the Tidal Basin is an annual highlight both to guests and locals. It is a popular place to walk, talk, see ducks in trees, watch painters or have bridal shots taken.

SMITHSONIAN TAXIDERMY DEPARTMENT The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History mounted an exhibit on mounting animals. Most animals were residents of DC's Zoo another institution in the Smithsonian family. The animals were donated to the Museum after they died of natural causes.
THE NATIONAL POW WOW AT THE MCI CENTER Richard West Stood in his full regalia. The smile on his face said it all. Yes. His dream of a home for the American Indians in the nation's capitol continued to come true. As the drums were sounding, he two stepped, clockwise in beat with the crowd.

THE NATIONAL BUILDING MUSEUM'S ANNUAL CHILDREN FESTIVAL The National Building Museum is located near the National Law Enforcement Memorial. Annually the Museum hosts a festival of the building arts for children to learn about masonry, construction and blacksmithing.
